'Center Ring' (Herbert Spence, R. 1974). Seedling# 66-60-9A. TB. 38" (97 cm). Midseason bloom. Standards mauve, falls same with blue-flushed center and mauve-brown border; bronze beard. Seedling# 63-17-1: 'Amethyst Flame' x Decker seedling# 2-784) x 'Orchid Brocade'. Spence 1974.

From AIS Bulletin #213 April 1974 Introducing CENTER RING (Spence '74). Midseason, 37"-39", TB. Sdlg. 66-60-9A (Amethyst Flame x Decker 2-784) x Orchid Brocade. Mauve self with a flash of blue in center of falls and mauve-brown border. This iris is highlighted with a rich bronze beard. The flower is large and flaring. Good branching and bud count. Net $25.00. Herbert Spence.
