From Carl Salbach catalog, 1934: CHINA ROSE (Salbach 1931,). A "little Frieda Mohr" except that it is warmer in color and has a most delicate antique appearance. Standards Chinese violet, falls bright magenta with bronze undertone at the haft. (Colors from Ridgway.) A seedling from Frieda Mohr x Roseway, and, we believe, a likely prospect for use in breeding for pinks. Height 28-1/2 feet, blooms of medium size, hence the introductory price of $3.00.
Wayman, 1943: China Rose—40 in. Improved Frieda Mohr; fine bright pink tone. 0.35c.
