From Melrose Gardens catalog, 1968: CLAREMONT CLASSIC (Sanford Babson '68) 38" Midseason (Goodness X Commentary). This iris is named in honor of the Claremont Hotel, 1968 Convention Headquarters. The soft translucent, pale blue of a spring sky is reflected in the dew fresh blossoms of the fluted, ruffled, form-perfect iris and it shimmers with all the titillating eagerness of a spring day. Ideal branching and bud count plus the rampant growth of the handsome plants are very worthwhile additions. $25.00 |
