COPPER GLOW (G. Douglas 1945) M. L. Rich and brilliant as autumn foliage, the warm brown tones fairly vibrate with life and color. The arched and conic standards are a blending of coppery rose and golden brown with strong midrib and slightly fluted edges. The falls are arched and flaring with the under color deep golden yellow completely flushed with the same color as the standards. Beard and styles are burnished gold. A smoothly finished flower with heavy substance that gives the effect of a glowing coppery brown self. Vigorous foliage, strong stalks with good branching. H. C., A. I. S. 1944. 37 in. $20.00. [Mrs. Thomas Nesmith, Fairmount Gardens Catalog, Lowell, Massachusetts, Introductions for 1945.] |
