From AIS Bulletin #157, April 1960. Introducing DARK STRANGER Sdlg #5619 (Black Forest x Sable) X Sable Night). DARK STRANGER is a larger flower of full rounded form. Standards are strong, closed and a very, very deep purple. The wide, clean-hafted falls flare moderately and are absolutely black with a sooty velvet texture. The beard is bright brown and contrasts nicely with the black falls. Branching is very good and the 7 or more buds are ideally placed. Ht. 32". Midseason H.C.1958. NET $20.00. Charles Branch.
