1984, Gibson

'Desert Lilac' (James Gibson, R. 1983). Seedling 34-8H. TB, 38" (97 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards red violet blend; falls apricot violet ground, stitched and speckled red violet; grey red beard; ruffled and laced. 'Starfrost Pink' X seedling 75-4B. 'Orange Plume' sibling. Gibson 1984.

From AIS Bulletin #252, January 1984 Introducing DESERT L1LAC-TB, 38", M, Plicata, Sdlg. #34-8H $25.00. This sib of EDNA'S WISH is a beautiful rich red-violet plicata on apricot-violet ground. The greyed red beards add much to the unusual combination. Fluted, ruffled and lightly laced. Six plus 6x6" flowers on 38" sturdy, well-branched stalks are sure to please. Gibson Iris Gardens.
