1953, Muhlestein

'Flamingo Bay' (Tell Muhlestein, R. 1953). Seedling# 51-6. TB, 38" (97 cm), Early midseason bloom. Color Class-R1, Deep pink self, deep tangerine beard. 'Salmon Shell' X 'Pink Formal'. Tell 1953.

Per Tell's 1954 catalog, 51-25 was originally registered under this name, but he withdrew and reassigned the name to 51-6.

References:

From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1956: FLAMINGO BAY (Muhl. 1953) EM. (Salmon Shell x Pink Formal). A very fine deep pink of large size and excellent form. This seems to us to be quite close to Pink Enchantment in color. A deep red beard and sleek, glistening finish adds depth. 10.00.
