'Gina The Gypsy' (
Darlene Pinegar, R. 1993). Seedling# TOF-1-1. TB, 30" (76 cm), Early midseason bloom. Standards greenish yellow narrowly edged white; falls velvety deep purple blending outward to light blue purple, narrow brownish edge, brownish red hafts; beards deep yellow; tailored; slight sweet fragrance.

From AIS Bulletin #293 April 1994 Introducing GINA THE GYPSY (Pinegar) TB, 30", EM-M. Named for our beautiful, exotic granddaughter. The first time it bloomed, I knew this was Gina's. Beautiful in an odd but enticing way. Greenish yellow S. and styles narrowly edged white. F. have velvety deep purple centers, blending to lighter blue-purple with narrow brownish edges. Brownish red hafts and deep yellow beards complete the look. Nice branching and stalks, 5-8 buds. Pod sterile, low pollen fertility. Tied for 14th place from 150 first-year plants in '93 at Loomis Trial Gardens. Twist of Fate X Rowdy. $25.00. |
