1963, Austin

'Horned Pink' (Lloyd Austin, R. 1963). Seedling# 25. TB horned, 35" (89 cm). Early midseason bloom. Color Class R3V. Standards light pink; falls rosy pink; yellow beard ends in 1" horns. 'Fabulous Fringes' X 'Sugarplum'. Rainbow 1963.

From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1963: HORNED PINK '63). Brightest & truest pink of the Horned iris to date-a bitone w1th light pink standards, almost rosy pink falls. Yellow beards end in bearded horns 1" long, sometimes longer & lightly spooned. Falls semi-flaring. Excellent pollen. (Fabulous Fringes X Sugarplum).
