1968, Tolman

'Laced Tapestry' (Bion Tolman, R. 1968). Seedling# 60-97-1. TB, 36" (91 cm). Very very late bloom. Color Class-VR1D, Standards claret red; falls claret wine red; small blue blaze; laced; brown hafts and beard. 'Black Taffeta' X 'Ruffled Apache'. Tell 1968.

From AIS Bulletin #189 April 1968 Introducing LACED TAPESTRY (Bion Tolman). M. 32". BLACK TAFFETA X RUFFLED APACHE. Large, laced claret-wine with gorgeous conical standards and semiflaring falls, which have brown at the hafts and a few inconspicuous markings. There is a faint flush of blue at the top of the brown beards. Should be useful for breeding red-blacks, reds, brown blends, and for adding lace factors to any of these colors. 60-97-3. HC '67. Net $25.00. Tell's Iris Garden.
