Hybridizer's comment As this iris grows in MS, it is more ruffled and flared than what the picture shows. It was worthy of introduction because it blooms late in MS and is a color that doesn't burn or fade in the hot sun. The name comes from the title of an Anita Shreve novel and is from two stellar parents. Silent Screen was a runner-up to the Cook Cup at the Fort Worth AIS Convention in 1993. Tom Parkhill in TN has used Silent Screen extensively in his breeding program and has introduced two or three from it.. -- WalterMoores - 08 Jan 2010 |
