'Lord Of June' ( George Yeld, 1911) TB Midseason bloom. Color Class-B3M. Standards lavender blue; falls deep aniline blue, yellow beard. Cinnamon fragrance. 'Amas' X unknown. Award of Merit.

The Garden p.306, 1915 notes: "Iris Lord of June. – A good addition to the pallida set. The standards are lavender; falls, violet with gold crest. From Mr. George P. Baker, Bexley."
From H. P. Simpson catalog, 1922: LORD OF JUNE (Yeld, 191G) S. lavender-blue; F. rich violet-blue. An exceedingly handsome iris of fine proportions. Said by some to be one of the finest irises in the world. 80-30-inch. Starred variety. Price $3.00 and $4.00.
Cornell Extension Bulletin 112: "Color effect a light chicory-blue, lavender-violet bicolor. S. lavender or light chicory blue. F. Lavender-violet, whitish outer haft, with bronzed, widely spaced venations. The standards are very large, and inclined to fade and become floppy in intense sun. The tall stalk branches low and widely, bearing its large, oblong flowers well. Its fruity fragrance is an added attraction in the cut flower. Rating 91."
