Early-Midseason Late. 36 inches. (Frances Kent) x (Tell's 49-11 D, sister to Pink Fulfillment, x 48-18 A: 46-13 x Pink Formal.) Surely the most distinct and striking of its type. Could be called a vastly improved Frances Kent or Palomino, but has a charm and individuality of its own difficult to describe. The standards are warm pink changing to peach-apricot near the edges. Falls creamy white edged in apricot, deepening at the hafts. Heavily substanced, the falls flare, ruffle and carry a deep tangerine beard. Truly a great iris. No. C 56-10. H.C. 1957. Very limited. $35.00 | | From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1963: MARILYN C (Crosby '58) EML-36". Imagine, if you can, a vastly improved Palomino with a charm & individuality all its own--that is Marilyn C. Its rich exotic apricot coloring has been described as surpassing the Bird of Paradise, Ginger & other tropical beauties of Hawaii. Standards melting apricot, flushed pink; falls creamy-white alluringly edged in peach-apricot, set off by a flaming tangerine beard. Was "Queen of the Show" in Ogden, Utah & could easily win a ribbon for you. HC'57, HM'58. Franes Kent X pink seedling. Regularly $15; on $20 order $9.75; on $25 order $6.75; 3 for $19.25. | | | %INCLUDE{"AdmTbInsert"}% --- %COMMENT{ type="bottom"}% --- -- Main.RPries - 2011-03-07
