From AIS Bulletin #197 April 1970: Introducing MARTINIQUE - Sdlg. 821-1 (Pedigree similar to Kingston Harbor). Hyancinth blue standards (Wilson 40/3), falls Wilson (40/2). Labeled the "blue-pink" by some who visited the garden, it is at times lavender blue, and at times blue-infused-pink. Very nice color. Lightly ruffled flowers are of beautiful form; beard is tangerine-tipped-amethyst. Strong grower; seven to nine buds. HC 1969. 36". $25.00. Bennett Jones. |
