From Tell’s Iris Gardens catalog,1959: McLEOD (H. M. McLeod, Tenn.) Early-Midseason. 36 inches. (Snow Flurry x I. korolkowii). Delightful, medium, sized flowers that show their Snow Flurry heritage in the flare and ruffling and their I. korolkowii blood by the slightly elongated, narrowness of the petals. The charm cannot be denied and arrangers of flowers will love it-especially those needing a "Green" tone. Since the color is pale green (Chartreuse) of a very smooth quality and the beard is also green. It is, without doubt, the finest light green self we have seen. It is our hope that McLeod may be found fertile for its potential in breeding for this color is truly great. We are pleased Aileen let this delightful iris be named as a memorial to her beloved husband, and our personal friend. No.R52-5-2. $15.00 |
