From Sturtevant Glen Road Iris Garden catalog, 1920: MERLIN— The widely opened standards of Mauve reveal the buff of claw and style branches, and the falls, varying in tone from Light Amparo Purple to rich Pansy Violet, are both of massive size and excellent texture; growth, stout; stalks so low branched, that even with their size, the ten or more blossoms do not seem crowded. 30 in.
