1973, Hamblen

'Misty Dawn' (Melba Hamblen, R. 1972). Seedling H66-36C. TB, 34" (86 cm). Midseason to late bloom. Standards pale pink (RHS 65A) flushed violet at midrib; Falls violet (87B) deepening to 85A at edges, cinnamon haft; tangerine-orange beard. (('Glittering Amber' x 'Whole Cloth') x 'Lilac Champagne') X ('Lilac Champagne' x (('Glittering Amber' x 'Frost And Flame') x ('Promising' x 'Frost And Flame'))). Mission Bell 1973. Honorable Mention 1974.

From AIS Bulletin #208 January 1973 Introducing MISTY DAWN (Hamblen). 34", M-L. Delightfully formed bi-color with deeply fluted ruffles. Standards are pale pink with flush of violet at midrib. Falls, violet with cinnamon hafts and thick red-orange beards. Strong stems with precise bud placement. (G. Amber x Whole Cloth) X (Lilac Champagne x sdlgs.) HC '72. $25.00. Mission Bell.
"H66-36C had light pink standards and biue orchid falls. I liked the form, branching, and coloring on this one, and feel that it is well described by its name MISTY DAWN.
