From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1965: MOON RANGER (Austin '65) E-36". A harmonious blending of clear yellow petals, very wide deep orange beard, decorative brown veining at haft. Beards continue on upturned horns w1th lilac under and delightful yellow spoons. Similar in coloring to Fabulous Fringes, but much larger. Flower often 7" across, with individual standards & falls 2-1/2" to 2-2/3" wide. Standards meeting; falls widely flaring; delicate lacing on all petals. If this were taller it could be classed with Colossals because of size of blossom. Extra good substance. Excellent pollen, so should be an excellent breeder. Happy Birthday X Horned Rosyred. Sdlg. #23. Regularly $25.00; on $35 order $16.25. |
