See below:
MOONLIGHT (1923) - I can throughly recommend this mid-season variety. The very large, finely-formed blooms are carried on stout well branched stems, 3 feet high. The pale amber broad standards are finely arched, the falls are straight hanging, smoky sulphury yellow, with heavy greenish gold reticulations at the haft, with a striking broad yellow lemon beard. Very strong scented. quite distinct in colour and a real acquisition. The Dykes Irises catalog, 1929. |
From Quality Gardens catalog 1931:MOONLIGHT (Dykes 1923) E. 36" F. The very large, finely formed flowers are carried on straight, well branched stems. A warm French gray, slightly shaded blue, and touched with green and yellow lights. A very beautiful flower. Very aptly named, as the color is moonlight. We strongly recommend this to all our customers. $1.00. |
