From Tell’s Iris Gardens catalog,1959: MR. WONDERFUL (Luzon Crosby) Early to Late. 36". (Tell's 49-31: Hall's 44-09, sister to Hit Parade, x Pink Formal) X (Pink Enchantment). This very wide rich pink self including a pink beard created quite a stir at the Utah Iris Society show in 1958 and was there awarded the C.O.C. The hafts are brushed with yellow, the only other color in the flower make-up. The extra wide, round falls flare horizontally. We feel it will be a magnificent parent, for not only does it have width and good substance, but it has color and a very fine, heavy stalk. A good and vigorous grower. C56-20. $20.00 |
From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1963: MR. WONDERFUL (Crosby '59) E-36". A very wide pink self. The most remarkable feature is very heavy substance in both standards and falls. Standards partially erect, falls broad, semi-flaring. Beard red-tangerine. (Hit Parade sib. x P1nk Formal) X Pmk Enchantment. Regularly $6.00: on $10 order $5.40; on $25 order $5.10. |
