1956, Buss

'Pearl Blue' (Walter Buss, R. 1956). Seedling #49-206-1. TB, 36" (91 cm), Midseason bloom. Color Class-B1L, Light gentian-blue self (Wilson 42/3), tinted deeper in center of falls; beard lemon, tipped pale blue. 'Chivalry' X 'Spanish Peaks'. Edenwald 1956.

From Edenwald Gardens catalog, 1957: PEARL BLUE (Buss '56) M.36". Very beautifully formed light gentian blue. A very pale blue that does not fade, intensified inside the flower, a charming feature. Beard is lemon tipped pale blue. Stiffly substanced with over-all ruffiing. The delicate coloring of this 6-inch flower coupled with a most appealingly beautiful form distinguishes this sister seedling of Caressa. Pictured on page 9. $7.50
