'Plumed Delight' (
Lloyd Austin, R. 1954). TB, 34" (86 cm). Midseason bloom. Color Class Y5, Blended yellow-cream washed and veined grayish lilac, and creamy-white bordered pale yellow. Beard superimposed upon a horn projecting out 1/2" from center of falls. Seedling JS-M-176B X seedling 638. Rainbow 1955.

From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1963: PLUMED DELIGHT (Austin '55) M-32" A bewitching yellow cream, washed & veined in grayish lilac, bordered in pale yellow. Falls beautifully rippled, stiffly horizontal. Beards are yellow & white, extend out along deep violet horns. A heavy bloomer. No pollen, but a heavy seedsetter. Often spooned. Seed parent of Flounced Premiere & Spooned Delight. Regularly $3.50; on $10 order $2.10; on $25 order $1.40; 3 for $3.80. |
