From Quality Gardens catalog 1931: SELENE (Connell 1931) M. 42". A tall, silvery white of extra large size, and very heavy substance. Mr. Connell assures me that this is the hardy white we have all been looking for. It has no Ricardi or Mesopotamica blood and should prove hardy in all climates. This lovely newcomer bears the name of the Moon Goddess, so named because of its exquisite luminous texture. $20.00. |
From Maple Valley Iris Gardens catalog, 1937: SELENE (Con. 1931) M. 40 in. Glamorous goddess of the moon, Selene, charms us with her luminous pearly glow. H. M. 1932. 35c. |
