From Quality Gardens catalog 1931: SUMMER CLOUD (Kirkland 1931) M. 32". This is a seedling of Simonne Vaisserie and is appro priately named. It is, however, a vastly improved Simonne Vaisserie, which of itself, is a beautiful variety. S. pale blue which gradually change to a gray blue white, like a cloud in the summer sky. The falls are a real sky blue. The flower is large and well proportioned; stalk 38 inches tall and foliage abundant. The plant is a strong grower. When we saw' it in Dr. Kirkland’s garden we at once marked it for our own, when he should have a stock sufficient to allow it. S15.00. |
