References:
From Pacific Coast Hybridizers catalog, 1992: : SWEET ADELA (Helen Monroe '92). $35.00. Helen considered this to be her best iris and named it, as a result, for her granddaughter. From the cross of Sunlit Coral X Movie Queen, this medium blue-pink self takes the best qualities from both parents. From Sunlit Coral, Sweet Adela has inherited a wonderfully branched and budded stalk, as well as a plant that grows and blooms with ease, and, from Movie Queen, has come the further refinement of form so typical of the Gatty-look: nicely ruffled flowers of great refinement and an elegant shape. NOTE: catalog spelling error of cultivar and date of registration. |
