'Tall Dark Stranger' (Vincent Christopherson, R. 2001). Seedling# L5-9W. TB, 36" (91 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards light violet purple wash on white ground; style arms violet purple; falls white ground heavily washed darker violet purple, darker stitched rim; beards mustard, base white; stalks purple; slight sweet fragrance. 'Mind Reader' X 'Chiffon Ruffles'. Argyle Acres 2002.

From AIS Bulletin #325 April 2002 Introducing TALL DARK STRANGER TB 36" M. This luminata plicata with its name inspired by the overall dark effect stands out in clump. Purple-buds and bracts, purple base foliage and stalks, even sets purple seed pods. Standards are light violet purple washed over white. Falls are heavily washed darker violet purple on white with rich darker rims. Beards white tipped mustard. Fertile both ways. Sdlg L5-9W. Mind Reader X Chiffon Ruffles. $40. Argyle Acres.
