| THE BISHOP (Washington 1937) M. A smoothly finished long flower of intense Bishop's purple. | For a dark iris with a texture like satin rather than velvet, I would get THE BISHOP (13). It might just as well be classed as a dark purple, but either way I would want it as it is good every year. [Wills, Jesse, (1943).
