(It is the privilege of the Longfield Iris Farm to introduce this variety, produced by Mr. Curtis Counterman, who, as a high school boy and earlier, was one of our employees for five years. In 1929 he flowered over 1000 plants, most of them from seed raised on Vesper Gold. Among these was this variety named Toscana. I have seen it in flower now three times and personally I think I have never seen a more beautiful or perfect Iris in every particular. It is a unique variety that eventually will be grown and admired by every confirmed Iris lover. E. B. Williamson.)
