From Glen Road Iris Gardens catalog, 1929: VAN CLEYE (Van Name 1926, Sturt. 1929) Almost a self with deep purple velvety falls as rich as those of Dominion, but they flare and are of a different shape. The stalk is tall and well branched and it often has three or more blossoms out at once; 3 ft. or over. 6.00.
