This striking dark colored iris has a blue tipped beard and no veining in haft. Falls are nearly horizontal and the clear clean color combines for perfection in your iris planting. Picture page 26.
From Cooley's Iris Gardens catalog 1967: VIOLET HILLS (DeForest '56) Here is the last word in deep true violet color! The 7-inch flowers shine like taffeta, even on a rainy day, and they will take rain, wind, or sun. Standards, falls and beard are a uniform rich violet-purple, the beard is lightly tipped blue. 38 inches. HM AIS, 1956; AM 1958. Winner of the President's Cup 1960. Each $1.00; 3 for $2.50
