| From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog, 1963: WHIZ (DeForest '63) E.L. 39 in. Cloudcap x (Cloudcap x Frances Kent). Nicknamed Whiz some while back because it was truly a whiz when it came to producing wonderful children. Dug and accidentally discarded, present stock was regrown from a show garden clump. A huge, exquisitely formed, heavily ruffled flower of blended creams tinted pink with deeper flushed stands and lovely golder amber haft, it appears to be made of velvet and dusted with gilt. Parent of wonderful new things at DeForests and in our own garden. $3.00. |
