'Darlene Waters' OB- ( Jack Linse, R. 1955). Seedling Nscap-27, AB, TMB, 40" (102 cm). Early bloom. Light blue violet self; darker lines flaring out into falls; darker violet at base of lemon beard. 'New Snow' X 'Capitola'. Easy Breeze Gardens, 1956.
From Easy Breeze Gardens catalog, 1956: DARLENE WATERS (Linse 1956) 40". Early. This is a beautifully finished flower of light blue-violet, with darker violet signal of lines raying out into the falls, which are near horizontal. The flowers are very large with spread of 7 inches or more, and the heavily substanced petals-both standards and falls-are 3 inches across. The beard is lemon, blue tipped. A tall lovely with fine stalk, two good branches and a terminal, and of rapid growth. A two-year clump had 7 fine bloomstalks! A personal favorite! Seedling NSCAP-27, from New Snow X Capitola. Each $20.00
