From Sass catalog, 1937: CHALLENGER (Jacob Sass, 1930)-A huge, very dark intermediate of Dominion race quality. S dull dark purple. F dark blackish violet, velvety, with a contrasting white beard tipped orange. Falls flaring. The largest flowered intermediate and a favorite wherever seen. Vigorous and free blooming. 25c
