From Carl Salbach catalog, 1926: PRIMAVERA. Several years ago the late Mr. Mohr crossed the species mesopotamica with a little yellow iris of the pumila class, the extraordinary result being a whole series of yellow seedlings blooming with the intermediates but forming a new group. From these Primavera was selected for naming because it was the largest and most shapely yellow bearded iris we had seen. The rather short sturdy stems bear many well rounded flowers of pale yellow, deeper in tone towards the center. Early, vigorous, and floriferous, it has already demonstrated its hardiness and distinction in one Massachusetts garden where it was sent for trial. We predict a fine future for this iris. Stock limited. $2.50 .
From Indian Spring Farms catalog, 1927: PRIMAVERA (Mohr 1926). A new Iris, resulting from a cross between the species Mesopotamica and a little Pumila, blooming with the Intermediates. The very large, shapely flower is pale yellow, deepening toward the center. Vigorous and floriferous. $2.00 each.
