From Wooster Pike, Cinncinnati, Ohio. Oculist, amateur gardener, Iris collector and breeder. Past Director, A.I.S. Hybridizer of 'Coralie', winner of the The American Dykes Medalin 1933. 1933, and 'Venus de Milo', runner-up for The American Dykes Medal in 1936. 
Among the first winners of the first American Iris Society's Hybridizer Award in 1941.
