Hybridizer Anson Wheeler Peckham (1918---- )

The Lodge, Skylands Farm, Sloatsburg, N.Y. Became interested in Irises when seven years old, making his own collection and beginning to sell when about ten. Began early to hybridize and was greatly helped by the kindness of the late E.B. Williamson who gave him many fine varieties with which to work. ZOnly interested in good varieties that grow well. Has some good seedlings, among them 'Tophet', 'Manzilla', 'Luimelight'. List began in 1928, continued past 1939. He introduced 'Rose Valley' (Scott). Very keen on music, playing the French Horn.
