Hybridizer Rev. Jacob Storer (1861-1938)

Reverand Jacob Storer was born in Switzerland, and came to the United States in 1884. Rector, Reformed Emmanuel's Church in Buffalo, N. T. Y. for 25 years. Author and hybridizer of plants for 35 years, especially Irises. He made a large collection and raised some good seedlings, going into partnership with M. F. Stuntz under the name Tip Top Gardens, Snyder, N. Y., which sold his seedlings. Tip Top also sold Bulbous and Japanese Iris. Reverand Storer was musical, a fine linguist and wrote several religious handbooks. [information from AIS Check List, 1939]
