American Iris Society Shows generally have the following awards;
Best In Show; Much as the name suggests; It is the best presentation of an Iris variety; being well grown (horticulture 75%} and presented well (Condition & Grooming 25%).

Silver Medal of AIS is available for presentation to the exhibitor winning the most first-place award ribbons (blue) jn the horticultural Division of the show, provided the show has at least twenty cultivars exhibited by at least five exhibitors for a spring show and at least ten cultivars by at least three exhibitors for a fall show.
Bronze Medal of AIS is available for presentation to the exhibitor winning the second most first-place award ribbonsprovided the show quyalifies for the Silver Medal in its size.
