POSITION TITLE: Iris Program Resources (Digital/Slides) received 11-5-2015

BASIC FUNCTION:

  • To coordinate all activities of the slides, DVD’s and digital programs of The American Iris Society.

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • He/she is appointed by the AIS President and responsible to the Board of Directors.

    MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

  • To procure the necessary high resolution digital photographs to present an effective digital program to the membership of The American Iris Society.

  • To safeguard and store all of the slide and digital/DVD sets of programs by use of the AIS disaster plan.

  • To distribute slide/DVD and digital programs on request.

  • To maintain a sufficient inventory of Digital/DVD programs to meet the needs of the AIS membership.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:

  • To solicit donation of high resolution digital photographs for the digital program and receive permission from the photographer to use these images for any and all AIS publications, including but not limited to Digital Programs, AIS Website and AIS Bulletin.

  • To ensure that all digital photographs are correctly labeled as to name of cultivar, classification of iris and photographer.

  • To make duplicate digital photographs as necessary.

  • To store and maintain slide/digital sets in a protective and efficient manner.

  • To promote the slides/digital programs in the October Bulletin of the American Iris Society.

  • To receive requests for utilization of slide/digital sets. Requests should include: Name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, Affiliate name, and date of meeting, preferred slide/digital set and an alternate.

  • To mail the slide and digital sets (either by Media or Priority Mail) and monitor their use and return of slide sets.

  • To present a written report to the AIS Board of Directors at its annual spring and fall meetings.

    TIMETABLE FOR ACCOMPLISHING BASIC TASKS

    Throughout the calendar year

  • Solicit digital photographs from hybridizers and iris enthusiasts.

  • Receive requests for slide/digital sets and mail out to clubs/affiliates and monitor the utilization and return of the slide sets.

  • Receive and process requests for purchase of Digital/DVD programs.

    April - May

  • Present a report of program activities to the spring meeting of the AIS Board of Directors.

    November

  • Present a report of program activities to the fall meeting of the AIS Board of Directors.

  5. To promote the slides program in the Bulletin of The American Iris Society and publications as appropriate.
  6. To receive requests for utilization of slide sets. Requests should include: Name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, Affiliate name, date of meeting, preferred slide set and an alternate.
  7. To mail the slide sets (by Priority Mail) and monitor their use and return.
  8. To present a written report to the AIS Board of Directors at its annual Spring and Fall meetings
