'Sapphire Jewel' (Melba Hamblen, R. 1977). Seedling# M74-09C. SDB, 12" (30 cm). Early to late bloom. Blue-violet (RHS 98D), deeper toned at base and haft; blue-violet (98B) beard. Seedling# M70-4A: (('Sunny Heart' x 'Blue Canary') x 'Canary Isle') X 'Forty Winks' sibling. Mission Bell 1978. Honorable Mention 1980; Award of Merit 1982; Cook-Douglas Medal 1984.
