Difference: SpecBelamcanda (r3 vs. r2)

Previously Belamcanda chinensis: it was distinguished from the genus Iris by the six perianth segments being equal, not differentiated into standards and falls; The styles are not petaloid as in iris but filaments ending in a stigma. The plant appears very much like an iris with typical plicate foliage. Recent work at Kew shows this should now be included in the Genus Iris. See Iris domestica and Belamcanda chinensis
