Iris curvifolia Zhao(Y. ( T. Zhao, 1982, Xinjiang province, China); Y. T. Zhao, 1982, Xinjiang province, China); Section Psammiris. Height 4-6" (10-15 cm); Bright yellow flowers with brown lines; It is said to be similar to Iris bloudowiiIris bloudowii but shorter, with bracts that are only slightly inflated, much less so than I. bloudowii, and leaves that are very falcate, therefore its name curvifolia. It appears to have a short creeping rhizome about 2 cm. in diameter with a few persistent old leaf bases at the base of the shoot. The sickle-shaped leaves are said to be 10-20 cm. long by 1-1.5 cm. wide. The flowers are about 4.5-6 cm in diameter with a perianth tube 2-3cm long. Zhao in Acta Phytotaxonomica Sinica 20: (1) 99 1982.
