'Ensata Grandiflora' (William Rickatson Dykes, 1913, Collected-Gumbleton, Gyantze, Thibet). Series Ensatae; Blue; All parts are at least 75% larger than typical Iris lactea . Blue; Barr 1928. Note image to the left shows comparison on a herbarium sheet of regular lactea and lactea grandiflora, this came courtesy of George Rodionenko.
(Registered as 'Ensata Grandiflora' as a cultivar name before it was discovered that Iris lactea Pallas was the older botanical name and had priority over the name ensata. Todays rules do not allow inclusion of the species epithet in the cultivar name).
