From Milliken Iris Gardens catalog, Carl Salbach catalog 1943: 1948: ARCTIC (Kleinsorge) A vigorous variety which performs well (Kleinsorge). Very large white with shading of gold throughout the country center and one which is very useful in landscaping. The flowers, of good size, are white with the central portion yellow. 3-1/2 to 4 feet. 75c; flower. Vigorous grower and free bloomer. 48". $3.00. 3 for $2.00.
(1946) ARCTIC---I saw this again From Milliken Iris Gardens catalog, 1948: ARCTIC (Kleinsorge) A vigorous variety which performs well throughout the country and one which is very useful in several gardens but I am still unimpressed. [Unknown author, landscaping. The flowers, of good size, are white with the central portion yellow. 3-1/2 to 4 feet. 75c; 3 for $2.00. Varietal Comment. AIS Bulletin #101 (April 1946): 72]
 
(1948) Arctic is of perfect form, with broad falls and ruffled standards, but, to me, it is less attractive than its parent, Birchbark.
