'Christmas Angel' ( Fred DeForest, R. 1959). Sdlg. Seedling# 57-102. TB, 38" (97 cm), Midseason bloom. Color Class-W1, White self, bright gold haft. ( 'Frances Kent' x 'Paradise Pink') X Hall seedling# 54-62. Irisnoll 1960.
CHRISTMAS ANGEL See below: was introduced in 1960 by Fred DeForest-one of his last. I have yet to see it in my garden but the one I did see was a larger PATRICIAN that flared a great deal more and had a more impressive set of gold epaulets. I was very much impressed and believed all I heard about it, a thing I rarely do, knowing full well that all hobbyists are like fishermen.
