From Tell’s Iris Garden catalog, 1958: MARILYN C (Luzon Crosby). Early-Midseason Late. 36 inches. (Frances Kent) x (Tell's 49-11 D, sister to Pink Fulfillment, x 48-18 A: 46-13 x Pink Formal.) Surely the most distinct and striking of its type. Could be called a vastly improved Frances Kent or Palomino, but has a charm and individuality of its own difficult to describe. The standards are warm pink changing to peach-apricot near the edges. Falls creamy white edged in apricot, deepening at the hafts. Heavily substanced, the falls flare, ruffle and carry a deep tangerine beard. Truly a great iris. No. C 56-10. H.C. 1957. Very limited. $35.00 |
