"Maytime, on a one-year plant, was well-branched From Maple Valley Gardens catalog, 1950: MAYTIME No. 464 (SHANNDPIN & PATHFINDER). M., 36 inches. A pink toned amoena, clean and very luscious in fresh In coloring. color. It seemed darker than the published color plate, with a little more infusion of yellow in both standards and falls, giving the whole flower a warmer tone. The standards were slightly open, but are pale orchid pink, seemed strong, and the falls were much deeper. The flowers are large, the petals wide and rounded, full, the form graceful. Perfectly hardy and free with very little both bloom flare. How important it may be in amoena breeding remains to be seen, but it will be popular on color appeal alone."
