Standards light blue heavily infused with dark blue; falls light blue fading to white. Seedling #955C. Seedling# 955C. ( 'South Pacific' x 'Wide World') X 'Allegiance'. Southern Meadows 1967.

From Southern Meadows catalog,1967: NIGHT HERON (J.Tucker '67) EML 38" 955C (South Pacific x Wide World) X Allegiance. Seedling #26. A "reverse amoena". Standards upright and held throughout life of bloom, blue with deep blue purple 1/3 way up and infused throughout remainder of standard. Falls very light blue becoming white after first few hours, 3-4 inches across. Beard white and yellow. Deep purple line on stigma. Flower is lightly and pleasingly veined and ruffled with excellent substance. Remarkable vigor, each rhizome produces 2-3 bloomstalks with 7-11 buds. Fertile both ways. The remarkable vigor is passed to offspring. HIGH COMMENDATION 1966. $35,00
