From Schreiner Iris catalog, 1947: PINK CAMEO (Fay 1946) A Schreiner introduction. On the front cover we have illustrated this phenominal new pink iris. With their exquisite grace, purity and refinement the "flamingo" and "sea shell" pinks are so unlike other iris they are in a class by themselves. The absence of lavender in the pink color is instantlyapparent. The brilliant heart of the flower with its vivid tangerine-red beard combines most effectively with the alluring cameo pink shading. Early blooming, nice size, well branched and a fine grower. 36". $20.00.
From Fay catalog, 1949: Pink Cameo. No. 44-1 (42-02 X Overture). $7.50. A clear, light pink flower with a tangerine beard and very pink buds. The standards are closely held and the falls are flaring. The 36-inch stem is strong; well branched. An early bloomer and a fast increaser. H.M. 1946; A.M. 1948.

From Jesse E. Wills (Tenn.), “Iris Impressions 1949,”_The Bulletin of the American Iris Society_, No. 115 (October 1949): 16: ". . . and was strengthened in the impression that Pink Cameo is one of the best of the new shell pinks when it comes to garden and clump effect. It is a rather untidy grower, but there is a lot of freshness and life to its flower".
From Jesse E. Wills (Tennessee), “Varietal Comment, Irises Seen in Nashville” The Bulletin of the American Iris Society, No. 123, (October 1951): 70: PINK CAMEO (Fay) "One of the best, perhaps the best, of the medium priced shell pinks. It is a wonderful doer and the color is still good in a class that is rapidly becoming crowded."
