'Primrose Path' ( Mabel Framke, R. 1963) TB, 38" (97 cm), Early to very late bloom. Colonial yellow self, light yellow beard. ( 'Star Shine' x 'Char-Maize') X 'Cool Comfort' x 'Cool Comfort'). Fleur de Lis 1963.
PRIMROSE PATH (M. Framke 1963) E.L. 39 in. ((Starshine x Char-Maize) x (Cool Comfort x Cool Comfort)). A solid self of glistening Primrose yellow with a full undertone of opaque cream and a rich lemon, Chrome tipped beard. Beautifully formed with extra broad petals, perfectly domed, rosebud tipped standards and flaring falls of great breadth which strangely, are as wide at the hafts as at the ends, giving the fluted ruffled flower a most unusual but delightfully lovely, square petaled look. Very heavily substanced and long lasting, this makes a spectacular showing, its tall, well branched stalks often exposing four perfect blooms at once in a lovely cascade effect stalk. No. 60-46F. $20.00. [Fleur De Lis Gardens, Canby, Oregon, Catalog, 1963]
